Low fat. Ton of flavors and toppings. Fabulous!

I went to Kiwi with a friend on a Wednesday afternoon. It is a typical self-serve yogurt bar. The interior is really cute with lime green walls and pink chairs. There was lots of seating, though kind of tight. They have a huge range of flavors ranging from the tropical to the creamier, and a good selection of toppings. Quality is good. $0.45/oz, so I guesstimate the average person would spend ~$4-5 there. I would like to see them recycle their colorful plastic spoons instead of only giving us the option of dumping them in the trash. I did not get to try all the flavors so I'll be heading back sometime!

Many flavors. Good place for my Sundays. I like that I sit against the window and I see everybody walk.

I am from NYC where there is now a yogurt place on every corner! It is becoming an addiction. So of course when I visited my friend at Penn State I ended up coming here for some yogurt goodness. Now of course right off the bat I see some amazing flavors on the wall! I got the salted carmel pretzel and watermelon flavor with wonderful honey, mochi, brownie pieces, and some other stuff! It was delicious. I got a huge cup of it for $7 which is cheaper then NY yogurt prices! It was all a whole lot of YUM. Very refreshing and smooth! This place was cute on the inside, I liked the way it was decorated. I could see families relaxing here, as well as college aged kids. Will stop back here if I am ever in the area again!

My boyfriend and I visited Kiwi last night and I absolutely loved it. Originally being from New England, I have never tried real frozen yogurt. I have had TCBY before, which I thought was yogurt, but is a joke compared to Kiwi. I was slightly overwhelmed by all of the different flavors and toppings and did not want to make a creation that would not taste good. Thankfully the girls working there were all ready to offer samples. It was super packed inside, and our yogurts which we paid for by the ounce, ended up being pretty pricey ($12.00 total for the both of us, and we used the smaller cups). I felt bad for the super skinny girl in front of us - her cup had like one small drop of yogurt and two blueberries in it and she paid $3.87). I guess the only downside is that with so many different options you can get carried away and spend a lot of money without realizing it so be careful. Other than that I loved this place and will definitely be back.

I'm a HUGE Pinkberry fan. Being from LA it's one of the first places I crave whenever I go home. This isn't Pinkberry but it's still a close 2nd. People call this frozen yogurt, but it's really FROYO. Don't even compare it to TCBY. This is a self-serve location with several different yogurt options and a lot of toppings from fresh chopped fruit, nuts, cheesecake/brownie bits chocolate pieces, and sweet syrups. My favorite is the Original/Tart and fruit toppings and Mochi. I love that they offer MOCHI which is a HUGE plus since most non-asian froyo owners don't offer it. It's $0.45oz which I think is slightly too expensive for our college town, considering the same place in Philly is only $0.04 more per ounce. The decor is super cute. Bright pink chairs with green colored walls. So far it's super clean and even though there might be long lines, it's goes pretty quickly.

Price is a little high as it is by the pound, but ingredients are fresh and yogurt is tasty. I would go back on occasion, just not a everyday dive for me.

It's always hard to rate places like this because if I were to compare it to all the froyo places that I've ever been to, I'd have to give it a 3 or average rating. But I think this is the only froyo place in town so I'll give it a 4star since it's good enough to satisfy my froyo craving. I like that it's a self serve froyo place because I can get as much or little as I like. I always get fruit on mine and I must say the fruit was pretty fresh when I went. The strawberries and kiwi were sweet and not sour. I would definitely be a regular here if I lived in town. One downside is trying to find parking but the same could be said about anyplace there.

Great frozen yogurt, not too expensive! Really nice staff! And they have free fruit infused water :)

They had a great assortment of flavors. Lots of fun toppings too and the prices were comparable. I especially like the bright colors inside, makes for a fun place to sit and chat with friends.

The thing is, I may or may not have an addiction to frozen yogurt and soft-serve ice cream. It's actually kind of gross how much I love it. I'm a fan of Kiwi, although I think it's actually quite comparable to Happy Valley Freeze (which I love, is much cheaper and has way more flavor options) and Yogurt Express (which I used to love, but watching Fox News on the giant TV while waiting in line always made me lose my appetite by the time it was my turn to order). The red velvet cake is the best flavor; I'm a little disappointed that they actually don't rotate flavors but whatever. I also don't mind the price because truthfully, it is the ONLY thing that prevents me from going there every other day. Really I am only writing this review because I wanted to thank the nice young woman working there the other night who ran after me despite the really long line to give me my change. I totally spaced out after paying with a $20 and was already out the door when she chased me down and gave me my change. Thanks, girl! You could've put that in the tip jar and you didn't, so for that you also win my favor.

Blegh. Heaven to those unfamiliar with Pinkberry I guess... Hell to those like me with finer palettes.

I have just tried this place once, so this is the review for my first experience at this place. I reminisced about my time in San Francisco where this kind of place are everywhere, therefore everybody tried to be the best since there is a lot of competition. So basically you can mix and match any 16 flavor of frozen yogurt and toppings, and you will pay it by the weight (45 cents per oz). It's not like the Yogurt Express place, a false frozen yogurt place without anything to do with frozen yogurt except being vanilla... and other boring flavors I don't want to care about... I mean, 2 other boring flavors. Anyway, this is a great place, the best place in state college, to get your craving of frozen yogurt. Since they just opened and assumed that all of you were born in State College and never went to a real frozen yogurt place like in big cities of San Francisco or Philadelphia (if you are, I almost feel sorry for you), their young, attractive, friendly staffs would be happy to give you any samples you want. I myself already sampled 4 flavors to find out whether this place actually has a good frozen yogurt. If you like the fruity flavor, I would recommend the Berry mix something flavor... it was amazing and up to my standard. The price is really really reasonable as well. The place atmosphere is colorful and clean, so it's a plus. It's also good for groups since they have seating places. Basically this is the best we can get in state college for our frozen yogurt craving. I strongly recommend that you try this place.

Kiwi Frozen Yogurt is ok. The cashier and manager were a little dry on my lunchtime visit today, which really was a downside for me, after meeting the enigmatic owners of Campus Candy. Kiwi really came across as a lot less fun. Kiwi's frozen yogurt was very thin and sweet. The plain vanilla didn't really have a luxurious or any lasting flavor. They had strawberry water out, which I wasn't offered after spending nearly $5 on a half of a cup of yogurt after it poured out of the machine.

A new crazy (?) has swept the State College market and that fascination is frozen yogurt. Sure, Penn State may have the best ice cream around (See The Creamery), but the battle for the best froyo has just begun. One of the newest places to open in downtown State College is Kiwi Frozen Yogurt. This places has about 10 different flavors to choose from as well as many different toppings for your yogurt. Overall, the taste and toppings are both fresh tasting and add a good variety. The price however, is something that can turn people off. For a medium sized of yogurt, I ended up spending about $6, which is a little pricey. All in all, it was a successful trip and I enjoyed my experience, I just wouldn't be sure if I will visit again. PS. This place is being compared to Campus Candy, which I also reviewed. When comparing the places, the atmosphere is something that can make or break a new business. In this case, I would have to give a slight advantage to Campus Candy, as they are a bit more friendly and energetic.

I'll be honest, I've never been the biggest fan of froyo. I grew up on being constantly thrown the occassional half-gallon of Creamery ice cream on holidays and always thought of frozen yogurt as "that hippie shit". Kiwi doesn't change my viewpoint entirely, but it does tweak it a little for the better. A large waffle cone cup with a bottom of peanut butter/chocolate twist and cookie dough bits for me, and a top of red velvet/birthday cake with mochi for my fiance. Whole cup came to around $7.50. Little pricier than picking up an ice cream, but it's only an occassional thing. Also mochi.

Was in State College earlier this month and tried out Kiwi. If you have difficulty making decisions, I do not suggest you go here! =) They have so many flavors and the girl there was so helpful. She allowed me and my friends to try almost all of the flavors. I have been to a few froyo places and this place is definitely worth it!

YAY legit fro yo! Careful though, if you fill the cup it will cost a lot. The tart flavors are awesome and the mochi is the perfect topping.

My brother took me here and boy was that a mistake on my diet's part. This place is fabulous. It puts Cold Stone Creamery to shame. Not only is it various with its delicious flavors of froyo, it is extremely affordable and has a wide variety of toppings. You can pick from up to 15 different flavors and mix an match to your heart's desire. You can also apply as many different toppings as you like. This place is probably the best place to take a date after a nice dinner or movie. Will definitely be returning the next time I visit.

Kiwi is one of the go-to froyo chains for my hometown, the Philly Metro area, but I haven't yet had the opportunity to try it until they opened a location in my current home here in Happy Valley. For those familiar with Philly mainstays such as Sweet Ending or Phileo, the process here at Kiwi is very similar: the yogurt and toppings are completely self-serve, and cups are weighed on scales at the cash register. At $.40/oz., it's definitely one of the most affordable yogurt places I've ever eaten at. They offer 16 different flavors daily; probably the most I've seen in one place at once, and many of which can be combined as a "swirled" flavor. (just pull the center lever on the machine in between two flavors!) The flavor assortment ranges from sweet flavors more akin to ice cream such as Birthday Cake and Red Velvet, to the standard flavors like Vanilla and all of your favorite fruits. One flavor that I'm curious to try is Bubble Gum, haven't seen that anywhere else. The yogurt itself was no better or worse than any other froyo that I've tried, but with such a wide variety of flavors I know that I can count on them having SOMETHING that interests me or everyone in my group of friends whenever I walk in even though they don't have a scheduled rotation of different of flavors. The toppings are the standard froyo assortment, varying from fresh fruits, to cake and cookie pieces, a wide range of candy and cereal toppings, and even sauces such as white chocolate and honey. And of course my favorite, mochi. It seriously goes with EVERYTHING. Finally, the staff is incredibly sweet. For those inexperienced in the self-serve yogurt process, they're always willing to help with answering any questions you may have, the cashier even went as far as to offer to walk me through the entier process. The complimentary water (with a hint of strawberry) at the register was also a nice touch. After an influx of multiple pretzel and cupcake shops, 2011 is already shaping up to be the year of froyo shops. I have yet to try their new competitor, Campus Candy, but Kiwi seems like they'll be more than able to hold their own. :)

My kids loved this place tonight--self serve yogurt, self serve topings, pay by the weight. The yogurt was tasty too and I didn't have that heavy feeling like after ice cream. My complaint is that they only offer really large cups, so my kids fill them up. And then have pounds and pounds of dessert. The machines and topics also keep on flowing when you try to stop, so you take more than you wanted to. That's how they make their money I guess. It's a very cute place though. My daughter wants it to be our regular place instead of Meyer Dairy (blasphemous as that might be!)

The yogurt is quite good and the selection is excellent. The atmosphere is a bit tacky but still acceptable. Unfortunately, the prices are stratospherically high. Even with my "free" yogurt coupon (really ~$4 off), I still ended up paying $4 for a not quite full yogurt cup with a dash of sliced kiwi.... If they cut their prices in half (or less), I could become a regular customer. As the price structure currently stands, I will head down the street to Yogurt Express.

It was ok. The flavors were good. The manager was stingy with the sample cups. Maybe they've had problems, but give my two cups, I am perfectly able to pour my own samples.....The containers that had granola and other items were difficult to use.
